Job Title:      Purchased Products Manager
Reports To:  Sr. Vice President Sales
Summary:   Manages Acme Brick Company’s purchased products group. Purchased products are defined as all products purchased for resale except (PFB-FWC).
Mission: To profitably grow Company’s purchased products.
  • Sources new products/services for Acme Brick Company.
  • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at the best price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Serves as Company liaison with all major vendor partners; communicating pricing, product or personnel change, and important vendor announcements.
  • Communicates information, pricing, product changes, vendor news to Acme Brick Company managers.
  • Spends time in the Acme locations assessing their product or service needs.
  • Works with Acme Brick Marketing Director by providing necessary purchased products information for website and/or marketing collateral.
  • Resolves vendor issues or misunderstandings as it relates to product quality, territory, invoices, pricing, and collections.
  • Visits new and existing vendor facilities to ensure the vendor is capable of properly supplying Acme Brick Company.
  • Attends all industry trade shows (NHBA, National Hardscape, AIA National, PCI, NCMA/ICPI and other related trade shows).
  • Assists with vendor product sales tools; including marketing brochures, displays, samples and other support materials.
  • May assist location(s) with go-to-market strategy for new products.
  • Develops market and product information to justify introducing new products/services to Acme Brick Company.
  • Evaluates and reviews vendor performance.
  • Negotiates vendor pricing when possible and evaluates justification for consolidating vendors. Creates opportunities to strengthen the relationship with the vendor.
  • Establishes recommended minimum pricing/margins for new products, based on market analysis and company goals.
  • Assists locations with the most cost effective transportation for purchased products movement within the Acme footprint.
  • Evaluates purchased products inventory DSI and assists locations in developing reduction plans.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus material purchased products.

Education and/or Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year accredited College or University preferred.
  • Marketing or Business Management Major preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing products in the construction industry.
