With more than 60 primary, specialty and urgent care locations throughout Texas, families can access our top-ranked specialty programs and network of services to meet the unique needs of their child.
As the Vice President of Real Estate, you would be responsible for Cook Children's Health Care System's:
  • Construction
  • Property Acquisitions and Disposals
  • Property Leasing
  • Property Management
The properties that you would oversee are chiefly in the Fort Worth/Tarrant County area.  However, as the Vice President of Real Estate, the portfolio you would manage includes properties throughout Texas, from Amarillo to San Antonio.
  • Demonstrated experience and an overall understanding of the principles and practices of real estate development and management, and facilities management including design, construction, finance, legal, operations, and leasing
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and objectively with leadership, co-workers and cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, building trust and consensus
  • Demonstrated leadership skills: participates in relevant strategic planning and annual budgeting; sets clear expectations for direct reports and internal/external partners, including role and responsibilities, deadlines, communication regarding progress, and provides feedback; works effectively with other System departments (finance, legal, human resources, IT, and development)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing demands, projects, and deadlines; change approach or method to best fit the situation; deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Project Management: Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; manages project team activities; organizes or schedules interns and their tasks; develops realistic action plans
  • Proven ability to establish and achieve metrics for department and employee goals that measure effectiveness of contributions to efficiency and service
  • Knowledgeable about relevant laws and regulations as it relates to real estate and the healthcare industry(e.g., ADA, Stark, antikickback)
  • Ability to effectively and professionally represent the organization in interactions with System Board and leadership and external and community stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing, and managing budgets and capital improvement projects
  • A customer-focused attitude and record of delivering high levels of quality service
  • Track record of integrity and sound judgment
  • An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management or related field is required.
  • Masters' degree in related field is preferred
  • 5-10 years' experience in commercial construction, real estate development, facilities management, and/or real estate finance/planning or comparable role required
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a healthcare system real estate department preferred
