The Director of Special Accounts is responsible for the day to day coordination, strategic planning, functional management, and leadership for sales and service related activity with Strategic customers in the Americas.  This position will work closely with Sales staff and management to help ensure total customer satisfaction and customer growth with customers both on site at Mouser (Inside) and at designated customer locations (Outside).  Oversees and evaluates Inside Sales Management, and other staff to ensure continuous sales growth.
Expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, suppliers, E-procurement, competitors, and customer strategies.  Assists with development and implementation of results oriented sales strategies.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with key customers and manufacturer reps. Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
Acts as a team player and key leader on the Americas Sales Team.
Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent.  Makes suggestions and recommendations for these employees regarding performance and change of status, including transfer, advancement, termination, and hiring.
Oversees staffing and coaching to develop and direct service & sales programs to achieve optimum customer account coverage and penetration.  Involved in the hiring of qualified talent and the retention of that talent. Works closely with sales managers to ensure development and growth with sales representatives.
Expected to spend a significant portion of time on the sales and service floor with sales staff.  Coordinates coverage for sales managers when they are out of the office.
Has strong presentation skills and can effectively communicate Mouser’s Value Proposition via phone, web meetings, and at customer locations.  Responsible to create on sitemeeting agendas, and propose growth initiating solutions.  Effectively manages any follow up activity.
Is available for travel in the Americas.
Supports and participates in the company total quality process and works with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years Business to Business Sales Experience
Experience in proactive in all types of Sales Management.
Previous experience managing more than one manager is required.

  • Proficient with writing/creating reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette. Able to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Able and willing to use our telephone headsets.
  • Detailed and thorough in work habits with multi-tasking ability.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make independent judgments.
  • Skill evaluations: Math 90%, Spelling 90%, Typing 40 wpm, Excel 70%
  • Has acceptable driving record and can provide current, valid driver’s license and current proof of insurance
