Cook Children's Assistant Vice President, Corporate Controller is responsible for the leadership and management of the corporate accounting and finance function for a 12-company pediatric health system in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
 
Cook Children's is a vertically integrated not-for-profit pediatric healthcare system in the Fort Worth, Texas market with $1.6B in net revenues and $2.8B in net assets. Cook's organizational structure includes: nationally ranked medical center; physician practice with over 400 primary care and multi-specialty providers; home health company with operations in Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio; Medicaid HMO with over 140,000 covered lives; wholly owned physician GPO with national footprint; captive insurance company; management and shared services company; foundation; real estate holding company; two physician hospital joint ventures; and a joint venture ACO organization.
 
As the AVP, Corporate Controller, you would be directly responsible for:
  • financial accounting (GL / AP)
  • financial & management reporting
  • treasury
  • payroll
  • tax function
 
You will also be responsible for:
  • establishing accounting procedures and internal controls
  • ensuring Cook Children's compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures
  • preparing and consolidating financial statements and management reporting for our executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders
  • coordinating external audit
  • overseeing Form 990, corporate, and regulatory tax filings
 
Requirements:
 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
  • Public accounting experience required, with preference toward those with healthcare industry experience
  • 5+ years of relevant financial management experience in a complex healthcare setting preferred
