Overview

The Financial Analyst II– Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of annual and quarterly SEC reports, preparation of parent company required reporting, quarterly internal reporting package and external investor presentations.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES
  • Assist with the preparation of the Company's SEC filings, including the 10-Qs, 10-K, 8-Ks and other filings.
  • Responsible for assisting in providing General Motors support for any financial requests.
  • Coordinate with internal/external auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
  • Interpret, document and assist in the implementation of new and/or revised FASB standards and SEC regulations as applicable to the Company.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the company's financial reporting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare internal financial statements - monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Update worksheets used in the analysis of fluctuations of balance sheet and income statement items on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Prepare reconciliation schedules for various items monthly and quarterly.
  • Assist with the coordination of information between the International operations and the North America operations.
  • Promote process efficiency and create a best practices environment.
  • Act as a mentor to junior analysts to aid in their development.

Qualifications

Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as well as knowledge of the preparation of a complete set of financial statements.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle accounting software, Cognos and Workiva preferred.
Skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate analytical skills with an ability to analyze financial statements and provide explanations for fluctuations.
  • Deadline and detail oriented and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree ​in Accounting required
Experience
  • 2-3 Years ​Experience preparing financial statements and financial analysis.
    Experience in preparation of SEC reports is a plus.
    Public accounting experience a plus.
    CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Preferred
