Then the DFW Airport, Department of Public Safety – Emergency Management team wants you. We are seeking strong leaders, solid performers, and true visionaries to be a part of our team supporting DFW Airport Strategic Plan’s – Safe and Secure, Operational Excellence, and Customer Experience key results.  
What you will be doing:
  • Assist in the continued development of a comprehensive emergency management program including but not limited to; multi-disciplinary planning, training, curriculum development and instruction, Emergency Operations Center technical operations and support, and other related duties intended to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury, loss of life or damage to property.
  • Develop and facilitate emergency drills and exercises.
  • Represent DFW Airport Emergency Management Program at local, regional, and state meetings.
  • Conduct outreach to build mutually beneficial relationships with surrounding community agencies, businesses, and government agencies to ensure collaborative and supportive relationships during times of crisis.
  • Assist with any other duties assigned by the EM Administrator.
What you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or a related field.
  • Six (6) years experience functioning as an Emergency Manager.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be submitted for consideration in place of the above.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective emergency management operations for the protection of people, data, and property.
  • Skilled in curriculum and exercise design and training delivery for diverse business functions.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions in high stress situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in speaking and in writing before a diverse audience– crafting information for the demographics of an audience.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Ability to respond as essential staff during crisis and work long hours as required.
What we desire:
  • At least 2 deployments to major events working in EOCs, JFOs, or with a VOAD.
  • Completed or in process to obtain CEM (within one year of hire).
  • Previous experience with EOC technology - working cooperatively with IT Departments to field new and update existing technology in preparation for actual or simulated emergencies or disasters.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with various disciplines to enhance operational success.
