Summary:  The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Project Manager is an expert in human research protection, compliance and federal human subject regulations. The Project Manager is completely independent in the oversight of the IRB review process and will assist the Director of Human Subject Protections in implementing and managing policies and procedures of the CCHCS HRPP. This person will provide consultation/interact with the CCHCS Research Community, including Investigators and their research teams, as well as with regulatory agencies. The HRPP Project Manager is responsible for assisting with achieving and maintaining accreditation through the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP), and developing continuous quality improvement initiatives that are consistent with the accreditation standards. This position is also responsible for conduct of the post-approval research compliance program.
Qualifications: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field (e.g., healthcare, social or health science, etc.) and minimum 7 years clinical research, pharmaceutical or regulatory experience with at least 5 years IRB/regulatory experience required; or an equivalent combination of education, certification and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be demonstrated.  
  • A Master's degree with relevant professional experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing and Excel required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of principles of research and federal regulations essential.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
 
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
 
  • IRB Professional or Clinical Research certification required.
