DCC Contract Administrator

As a Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for working with appropriate Airport Staff in developing and writing request for bid/proposals/qualifications for construction, architectural, engineering and land survey services that support the Airport’s Design, Code, and Construction Department. You will facilitate a seamless management of contract execution from solicitation, negotiating terms and conditions, and writing and administering contracts.  You will be tasked with ensuring contract administration functions are carried out consistently, while delivering a high level of service. What you will be doing:
  • Support project management and senior staff by performing contract administration responsibilities in support of DFW projects and programs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and design firms to develop and write bidpackages for competitive bidding, request for competitive sealed proposals and request for qualifications/proposals for professional services.
  • Manage the solicitation process, which includes conducting pre-bid and pre-proposal conferences, bid openings, reviews submittals, manages the evaluation and negotiations process to determine the selected vendor, analyzes proposals and evaluates pricing, works with evaluation committee to recommend selected vendor to management.  Documents the solicitation and evaluation process, statistics and conclusions.
  • Prepare, or assist in preparation of, official board actions, contracts, change orders, and related documentation, obtains required concurrence/approval signatures; writes notices to proceed.  Manage and facilitate contract execution, ensure compliance with contract terms and provisions.
  • Participates in negotiations or on negotiating teams for new services, changes, claims, etc., claim of changes, claim settlements, and other documentation.
  • Oversees contract closeouts, ensures all contractual closeout requirements are met and completion notices are issued to contractors/consultants.  Obtains internal approvals and reconciles the final fund disposition.
What you need:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or other related business or technical/engineering field.
  • Two years of progressively responsible purchasing experience or experience administering contracts.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
