Job Summary:
The Integrated Content and Marketing Manager will support the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine by creating content and editorial copy for promotional materials, press releases, newsletters, website, social media and other projects. In addition, this position will develop relationships with national and regional press and compose creative story pitches for coverage. This position will assist with the production of the newsletter, development of social media tools and the analytics to track and measure engagement. In addition, this position will conceptualize, create and edit video content and photography for the School of Medicine. This position reports to the Director of Digital Development and Content Strategy.
 
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Produces content by developing ideas; gathering information, attending and covering activities and events; conducting interviews, arranging or taking photos and shooting and editing videos.
 
Prepares information for publication by reviewing copy for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling; improving clarity; checking for readability, style, and agreement with TCU and UNTHSC policy.
 
Advises on opportunities to promote the School of Medicine through digital means and finds creative ways to pitch stories to news outlets.
 
Works closely with the Marketing and Communication teams at TCU and UNTHSC to align messaging and avoid duplication.
 
Assists with other editorial projects as needed, such as providing copy for other publications, maintaining editorial websites and handling digital media.
 
Monitors and analyzes social media channels, blogs, and online materials.
 
Coordinates, creates, produces and executes social media content for the School of Medicine social media on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social platforms.
 
Researches new technologies and uses of social media and uses analytics to measure success.
 
Cultivates and enhances working relationships with the press and community. Produces press releases, press kits and digital promotional materials. Plans and oversees press events.
 
Performs other related duties as assigned. 
 
Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field or equivalent in experience.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing or related field.
  • Experience using social media channels (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, etc.).
 
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience using WordPress publishing.
  • Experience in video editing and producing.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of department specific software such as InDesign and MS Word.
  • Knowledge and experience using social media channels.
  • Knowledge of video software editing tools, such as iMovie or Final Cut Pro.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and stay abreast of best practices in social media.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision under strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
 
Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
