This Director position will manage a team of IT professionals responsible for delivery of all Corporate Systems portfolios supporting HR, Finance, Procurement and Legal using both commercial, off the shelf software and home-grown applications.   This position will be responsible for team development, building a global team, implementing & enhancing business solutions, and overall successful application portfolio management while working cross-functionally with business partners, other IT teams, business analysts, vendors, architects, and third-party resources. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a single point of contact for IT solutions and projects related to all Corporate functions:  HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal and associated governance systems. Serves as the primary liaison between IT and business partners.
  • Manages a team of IT application development professions with 3 – 4 direct senior manager reports to ensure full application portfolio management.
  • Responsible for growing a new development team in Bangalore, India.
  • Manages and tracks budgets, forecasts, and schedule to achieve program scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Manages the annual operating plan and budget which includes prioritization and setting customer expectations.
  • Responsible for management of a diverse portfolio of projects and applications covering many business areas represented in Corporate Systems – Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal.
  • Responsible for the creation of a multi-year technology roadmaps for the portfolios including working closely with business partners and across the JCPenney technology team.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements within these department processes and supporting systems and recommends methods and technologies for improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of SDLC and IT project management processes, and is current with trends and issues in the information technology industry relating to both custom and package solutions.
  • Provide direction, counsel, and sets goals for career growth and development of the reporting team.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • Ideal candidate will have a solid track record of 10+ years of experience working with all levels of staff across an enterprise in IT application delivery and support experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience leading a company’s implementation, upgrade, and management of large package solutions. 
  • Excellent time managing skills leading technically complex, cross-organizational, multi-stakeholder applications and leading teams in the delivery of associated technology solutions.
  • Excellent in building and developing global teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the business customer and across IT.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline preferred
  • Project management or project leadership experience.
