Training Specialist

Training Specialist job duties include the following:
  • Develop course outlines, curriculum, lesson plans and related instructional materials.
  • Conduct classroom and on-the-job training.
  • Research and track employee training statistics and records.
  • Prepare reports on training activities.
  • Conduct accident investigation activities.
  • Coordinate with management and supervision, other divisions and departments for overall training efforts.
  • Participate in Accident Review Board, Safety Committees and other committees as assigned.
Minimum job requirements include the following:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business or Public Administration, Industrial Technology or related field.
  • At least two years of increasingly responsible experience in developing and conducting training programs for educational and/or safety related programs.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Possession of a TCEQ Class B license in both Water and Wastewater.
  • Ability to obtain a TCEQ Training Certificate.
Preferred experience includes:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive presentation experience.
  • At least two years developing and implementing training programs and safety classes to large groups.
  • At least two years working with municipal government or construction safety.
  • Previous accident investigation experience.
