Inventory Control Manager

Manage the operation and performance of stockrooms, raw materials stores and receiving. Maintains a high level of employee efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety, training and development in assigned departments. Coordinates all activities associated with staging purchased materials.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
  1. Communicates job responsibilities and duties including performance standards in assigned tasks.  
  2. Manages a total of approximately 60 employees in stock rooms, raw materials stores, receiving, and related material controlling activities.
  3. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  4. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  5. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  6. Ensures compliance with established procedures and maintains effective internal control over the physical product flow and accountability of inventory receiving and store operations.
  7. Direct and manage the receiving and stores areas to ensure that product is available to support the daily needs of the manufacturing areas.
  8. Manages the Inventory Accuracy Process and analysis system. 
  9. Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory issues.
  10. Maintains inventory accuracy reports. Implements corrective actions for prevention. 
  11. Develops and implements inventory control procedures. 
  12. Manages annual physical inventory.
  13. Develops and maintains written work instructions for all areas under their control.
  14. Maintains and supports the safety program to prevent injuries and lost time.
  15. Develops and maintains open communication and working relations with other departments to meet company‘s needs and goals.
  16. Analyzes and controls monthly budgets. Reconciles and reports on variances. Forecasts departmental yearly budget.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Must have good management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  2. Must have knowledge of receiving, stock room and inventory control principles. 
  3. Must have ability to manage employee’s workflow and direct work goals.
  4. Familiar with Microsoft Office, MAPICS (AS400), MDCC receiving software, and Powerlink XA (AS400 Interface).
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  2. Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in a material control environment.
  3. Experience in manufacturing preferred. Must have experience managing people, hourly and salary; with union control. 
  4. MRP experience desired.
