The City of Fort Worth Performance Office & Budget Department is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent facilitation and analytical skills to join our forward-thinking team and fill the position of Process Improvement Specialist. The City of Fort Worth is focused on using data and analysis to streamline processes to deliver efficient and effective services.
The selected candidate will coordinate the Lean Leader program; provide process improvement coaching and training; facilitate process improvement events to enable city departments to achieve increased efficiency and effective service delivery; assist with the performance measures program; and conduct complex studies, research and analysis. This position will support and expand the city’s Lean Leader program through working with frontline employees, supervisors and managers in implementing and sustaining best practices in process improvement and analytics tools.
 About Our Job
In this role you will directly impact the daily operations of the City. As part of a centralized, strategically focused team, you will:
  • Coach, mentor and train employees in Lean methodologies
  • Monitor Lean Leader project and team progress to drive successful outcomes
  • Provide process improvement and analytics expertise to employees and city leadership
  • Develop and deploy training related to process improvement tools such areas as facilitation, process mapping, and root cause analysis
  • Facilitate various process improvement events
  • Design and develop methodologies to evaluate governmental operations in areas such as organizational structure, function, work methods, staff utilization, feasibility of proposed changes, and relationships among organizational units
  • Develop metrics and methods to track outcomes of process improvement efforts
  • Identify and develop appropriate organizational benchmark and performance measures
  • Develop analytical reports and data visualizations to identify performance issues, recommend policy alternatives, and drive performance improvement
  • Oversee the development, administration, analysis and reporting of the annual employee survey and assist departments with developing customer surveys.
     About You
    Our ideal candidate has:
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience using Lean tools and methodologies; certified in Lean or Green Belt level Six Sigma
  • Four (4) years of experience coordinating or leading process improvement, data analysis or organizational analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups and process improvement events
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field
     Preference may be given to candidates with
  • Green Belt certification and a minimum of one year professional level experience in facilitating and coaching teams in process improvement efforts or process mapping
  • Government experience in managing performance measurement data and developing measures
  • A Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field
