Responsible for timely employment and placement of quality new hires and internal candidates for scheduled and exempt positions in a cost effective manner to meet operational demands and objectives. Investigate and respond to employee relations issues and complaints.
This position will have multi-departmental responsibilities to support the headquarters employees in Resource Protection, Labor Relations, Environmental, Safety, Operations Workforce Management and Service Design.
Activities include:
Recruiting, interviewing, and selection of scheduled dispatchers in the NOC and Regional Dispatching Centers and exempt candidates for hire and promotion in the various operations departments in the Fort Worth Headquarters.
Provides proactive employee relations support.  Must investigate and respond to all EEOC Charges, hot line calls and internal complaints for the departments supported.
Must be able to multi task in a fast paced environment. The position involves some travel on the BNSF system, mainly to Regional Dispatch Centers, the Technical Training Center in Overland Park, KS or to the Business Car team in Topeka, KS.
Researches and responds to numerous complex exempt and scheduled questions and problems.
Prepares materials and presents training to diverse employee groups on various human resources topics.
Works with the departments on succession planning, talent planning, benefits information, and performance management.

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of professional work experience in Human Resources field 
•Extensive experience in Employee Relations/handling EEOC charges
•Individual must have strong demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
•Individual must be self-directed and motivated.
•Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel a must.
•Prior experience in recruitment and hiring selection.
•Comprehensive knowledge of all federal and applicable state employment laws.
•Knowledge of compensation and benefits programs.
•Progressive, recent human resources management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
•Knowledge of operational and system functions
•Strong independent decision making ability, excellent analytical ability and attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
•A firm understanding of organizational and management development practices.
