Media Content Development Specialist

The Fort Worth Public Library is seeking a creative communications professional adept in content development for social media, advertising, marketing and public relations projects who develops video, photo and audio content and multi-media editing support to the library communications unit.   An individual with a passion for the impact of strategic storytelling and targeting social media content will thrive in this role. 
Responsibilities:
  • Creates meaningful content through conceptualizing, writing and editing that can tell stories in formats appropriate for various channels (broadcast, social, advertising etc.)
  • Works closely with unit leadership to plan social media content that aligns to library programming, promotional objectives, campaigns and other city-wide initiatives
  • Oversees the production and editing of high-quality content including videos, podcasts, photography and multi-media projects
  • Consistently develops creative and innovative ways to tell stories to customers
  • Regularly attend assigned events and programs developed by the Fort Worth Public Library
  • Collaborates closely with Sr. Graphic Designer and other communications staff to support library and city branding
  • Manage production timelines and deliver on deadlines
 
Primary Requirements:
  • Highly skilled in conceptualizing ideas
  • Adept at writing concisely and accurately for social media consumption
  • Experience with website content management systems and webpage maintenance
  • Ability to assert their own ideas and take constructive criticism and direction
  • Social media savvy and experienced on multi-channel management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premier Pro editing
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree with emphasis in photo or a related field and two years of increasingly responsible technical audio/visual experience with significant and public contact and at least one year of video editing experience. 
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license and transportation is also required.  
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • At least two years’ of public library experience
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish.
