Description: The Vice President directly works with the President and CEO to develop key relationships both locally and nationally to assist in the core mission of the health network. In light of reductions in overall supplemental funding particularly at the federal level, the JPS Health Network must pursue vibrant alternatives to traditional government funding support. The VP shall create new opportunities for JPS that have either not been attempted or have not been previously available. Key areas for development are but not limited to:
  • Maximum utilization of current land holdings
  • Naming opportunities of new or existing buildings
  • A Strategic approach to pursuing public/private partnerships
  • Exploring the best possible grant opportunities
  • Pursing national funding opportunities from both private and foundations sources to enhance programs such as mental health, infant mortality, residency expansion programs and population health initiatives. The VP should align such funding opportunities to the initiatives and the direction of the Network
The Vice President will also play a key role in combining facility growth with program development should the bond election be successful. As JPS looks to expand and support existing services the VP will assist in prioritizing those plans coupled with potential funding sources for new programs or enhancement of current programs with a keen emphasis on potential funding sources with sustainability. Typical Duties:
  1. Develops vision and plans to accomplish annual philanthropy financial and program goals.
  2. Organizes and executes a national fund development strategy.
  3. Develops and ensures tracking financial, performance, engagement, and satisfaction of donor giving
  4. Reports out to the JPS Board, President and CEO, Executive Team, and Foundation Board quarterly on financial and goal progress.
  5. Represents the network in the community to strengthen good will that advocate for health of the community through giving.
  6. Promotes involvement and engagement of employees of JPS Health Network and the community members to get involved with charity efforts in cooperation with the Executive Director of the foundation.
  7. Implements procedures designed to maximize foundation funding.
  8. Oversees and implements the design and implementation of programs needed to support fundraising activities through potential public/private ventures.
  9. Collaborates with the JPS Health Network Foundation Board Members, Executive team, JPS Health Network Board of Managers, physicians, team members and volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects and secure new sources of annual funds for sustaining and improving existing programs. .
  10. Explores resources available through individuals, foundations, grants, while developing fundraising strategies and campaigns at a national level.
  11. Follows protocols established by the bylaws and ensures restricted funds are used in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and donor stipulations.
  12. Participates in Leadership Development activities; implement strategies and processes to improve employee engagement and performance.
  13. Promotes departmental and organizational activities for providing courteous customer service to patients, families, visitors and external customers.
