Benefits and Total Rewards Manager

The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for managing the Total Rewards teams. This position is responsible for assisting the AVP in the development, implementation, and administration of the company's Compensation and Benefits programs, salary evaluations, incentive plans, 401k, long-term incentives, job description facilitation and review, and survey participation. The Manager will also be responsible for assisting in the coordination and maintenance of Group Health Insurance programs.The Manager will have contact and interaction with all levels of management and departments across the organization as well as insurance vendors, broker, and insurance solicitors.


  • Maintain current knowledge of all Group Health Benefits under a Section 5 plan and FMLA, including amendments to policies, changes in the law, etc
  • Maintain contact with insurance companies, insurance agents, and broker to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees
  • Manage COBRA administration
  • Review all reconciled insurance bills before sending for payment
  • Manage the organization's Compensation program
  • Provide team members with strategic insight and guidance, as well as appropriate recommendations regarding compensation issues
  • Research, analyze, and recommend appropriate structuring of compensation initiatives
  • Analyze and update the salary structure as needed
  • Audit and oversee the evaluation of job descriptions and market positioning
  • Actively participate and oversee the design and maintenance of Compensation systems
  • Oversee the participation in compensation surveys
  • Apply department standards that focus on internal efficiencies for consistent, accurate, timely and quality output


  • Advanced HR systems and databases (eg, HRIS) and their applications
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, stenography and transcription
  • Advanced software applications (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)

  • Administering or coordinating compensation and benefits programs
  • Advanced software applications (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email) skills
  • Communicating organizational benefits programs to employees
  • Completing various administrative duties (eg, answering phones, making copies, filing)
  • Designing benefits programs (eg, medical and life coverage for employees and eligible dependents)
  • Generating HR reports
  • Integrating information from various HR database sources
  • Advanced Microsoft Outlook skills
  • Analyzing compensation and benefits policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Communicating organizational benefits of training programs
  • Communicating pertinent information
  • Complying with US government regulations (ie Selection, EEO, Title , FLSA, ADA, FLMA, etc)
  • Ensuring compensation and benefit programs comply with legal requirements
  • Generating reports for management personnel
  • Maintaining group benefits records
  • Using HR databases and information systems (eg, HRIS)
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 5-7 years strong work experience CCP or CBP preferred required
Work Conditions
  • Occasional overtime or split shifts may be required
  • Subject to stressful situations

  • Work a flexible schedule including extended business hours, weekends and holidays
