Description: The Director of Provider Recruitment and Provider Compensation is responsible for the overall direction and success of the provider on-boarding experience. This position will support service excellence and ensure maximized efficiencies and profitability while providing quick responses to the group’s clinical coverage needs. The Director of Provider Recruitment and Compensation will have responsibility for recruitment, selection and engaging in employment agreements and other contracts and arrangements with Providers (herein globally acknowledged as “Provider Transactions”), including but not limited to, professional or management service agreements, medical directorships, hospital-based physicians, joint ventures, on-call arrangements or leases. Typical Duties:
  1. Ensures that all provider transactions comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to the recruitment, selection and engaging in employment agreements, contracts and arrangements for physician services. (i.e., professional or management service agreements, medical directorships, hospital-based physicians, joint ventures, on-call arrangements or leases). Applicable laws and regulations include, by way of example, the federal Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  2. Participates on acquisition / integration of teams and oversees the responsibilities of onboarding new individual providers and provider groups.
  3. Develops, recommends and operationalizes standards for benchmarking provider compensation to ensure consistency in methodologies, best practice and competitiveness. Acts as the liaison between administration, providers, legal counsel, and/or third parties with regards to provider compensation issues, coverage agreements, and other financial matters impacting provider compensation.
  4. Develops and drives strong measurements and metrics to assess and manage optimal recruitment team performance and direction.
  5. Manages the process for obtaining medical and prescriptive licenses, completing hospital credentialing, and completing payor enrollment.
  6. Ensures the process supports timely provider onboarding, quality credentialing, and optimal reimbursement through application of daily process management tools and principles.
  7. Strategic planning and process improvement review and implementation, ensuring the department performance aligns with organizational goals.
  8. Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness and work with cross-functional team to support approval and implementation.
  9. Responsible for leading all future primary source automation initiatives; ensure requirements and feedback for current/future operational tools clearly identified and optimized.
  10. Partners and communicates with leadership of internal key departments, district operations and practices to positively impact the overall provider experience and achieve desired corporate goals and objectives.
  11. Manages external vendor deliverables to ensure requirements, timelines and expectations for the Provider Experience are being met.
  12. Collaborates with JPS Health Network recruitment team to standardize the onboarding process of Acclaim staff positions to align with JPS Health Network process and procedures to ensure consistency among Acclaim and JPS staff hiring practices. Leads the interview and selection process for staff positions.
  13. Effectively collaborates with and serves as the primary point of contact for all onboarding stakeholders including senior leaders, managed care, central billing office, independent providers / administration staff, and hospital medical staff office.
