Construction Program Accounting Manager

As a Construction Program Accounting Manager you will be responsible for directing the construction programs cost accounting services for the Airport, by supervising the operation of a fully functioning cost accounting system to aid the Airport in cost allocation, project costing, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling.  
What you will be doing:
  • Delivers accurate and timely Design, Code, & Construction dept annual Operating & Maintenance budget, including Permit Fee revenue recognition, as well asinterim Outlook forecasts, and related initiatives.
  • Completes accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing activities, including cost allocations and capitalization Journal Entries.
  • Delivers accurate and timely monthly capital program financial reports/forecasts and directs preparation and input of accurate financial data into financial systems.
  • Plans, implements, and provides oversight to ensure accounting processes and procedures are GAAP compliant and results in a “clean” audit review.
  • Supervises the processes that results in accurate and timely creation and processing of purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and requests for payment.
  • Develops and maintains a high employee engagement and cross training.
What you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
  • Five years of progressively responsible related experience in accounting administration, cost accounting, budget development and/or analysis, or financial accounting.
  • Three years of supervisor experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction project accounting theory, principles, practices and applications. Prior experience with cost accounting/allocation systems.
  • Ability to delegate authority and plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of a group of professional personnel in a manner conducive to high performance and high team moral.
  • Ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written – including technical communications with development (design and construction), aviation, legal, and financial professionals.  
What we desire:
  • Certified Public Accountant certification
  • Master’s degree in accounting or business
  • Experience in Accounting/Financial aspects of the Construction, Design or Engineering industry
  • Experience in developing and using computerized financial reporting and forecasting systems.
  • Significant experience using Oracle Financials, Microsoft Office, Khalix and/or Skire/Unifier.
