This role is primarily responsible for administration, management and maintenance of enterprise server, storage and database systems.  This role performs installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery.  It also maintains and updates standard operating procedures and documentation.  They will be responsible for providing critical production support on a periodic basis.
What You Will Do
  1. Install, configure, patch and upgrade operating systems, databases and related administration/management tools.
  2. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all system resources and key processes.
  3. Review system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  4. Manage security of system and individual accounts and privileges.
  5. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  6. Participate in the operation and maintenance of systems.
  7. Monitor enterprise storage with respect to managed infrastructure.
  8. Assist with creation, test and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
  9. Learn and follow standards and procedures under direction of Team leads.
  10. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 
 Minimum  Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, business, mathematics or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in database management with emphasis on knowledge of Oracle database technology.
  • Four (4) years of experience in system administration.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license
 
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of networking, database, storage and related technologies
  • Ability to implement, administer and maintain new system hardware/software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others to determine technical requirements and possible solutions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and configure system hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of database application development.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently to manage databases and systems.
  • Ability to respond to critical production issues on an on-call 24x7 basis.
 
Desirable:
  • Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Certification
  • Experience with processes and procedures that use the ITL framework
  • Experience with implementing CIS Security Benchmarks
  • Experience in Unix and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with all storage protocols (SAN, NAS)
  • Experience in utilizing Oracle data base tools and products.
  • Experience in utilizing Microsoft SQL Server data base tools and products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Servers and client server software applications.
  • Experience with various Web servers.
  • Experience with PL/SQL and TSQL database scripting.
  • Certifications in latest versions of operating and database system.
