Salary Range: $100,700 - $118,900
This is a manager position responsible for supporting BNSF’s Records and Information Management Program by working with stakeholders to ensure policy compliance and the secure and efficient access to vital and historical company records, which includes:
  • Represent Compliance / Records and Information Management (RIM) on strategic governance, change management and technical implementation projects related to the platforms under which any paper or electronic records are managed and retained, which includes:
    • Partnering with Technology Service, Compliance & Audit, Law and business stakeholders to continue implementation of the Information Governance (IG) strategy;
    • Developing RIM and IG technology framework for the management and retention of information within the entire corporation regardless of records and information format;
    • Implementing IG strategy to make the management of corporate information easier through simplifying storage, security, version control, process routing and retention policies.
  • Serve as the liaison between business end-users and technical implementation teams on all IG projects;
  • Formalize means of organizing and storing documents and other information that relate to business processes, including strategies, methods and tools used throughout the lifecycle of information;
  • Document technology governance for capturing, managing, storing, preserving and delivering content and documents related to business processes;
  • Contribute to our positive, team-oriented culture by developing and maintaining cooperative relationships, facilitating the resolution of conflicts and accepting and providing constructive feedback.
  • At least five to seven years’ experience in records and information management, compliance, information systems, finance or relevant translatable experience gained from work in other BNSF departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Certified Information Professional (CIP) certification and e-discovery experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent leadership capabilities and proven ability to motivate numerous individuals to carry out objectives of established policies and programs.
  • Must demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and large cross-function teams simultaneously and handle sensitive issues effectively.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to problem solve and analyze complex problems and be able to coordinate and integrate information from numerous departments within the Company and other sources.
  • Must act with a high level of accountability, takes ownership for the success of the team, and act with a high degree of professionalism and ethics.
  • Must demonstrate ability to prepare and comfortably deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management in a clear and confident manner.
