Job Overview
As an Energy Management Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, installing, and maintaining hardware and software devices and programs relating to building automation and distributed controls systems BAS/DCS. You will also be monitoring contractual compliance for vendors supporting BAS/DCS systems; analyzing the effectiveness of existing hardware and software, and recommending system repairs and upgrades to improve operability and maintainability. You’ll have the opportunity to monitor and service some of the airport’s most critical systems.
 
What you will be doing:
  • Serving as the principal point of contact for all centralized BAS/DCS hardware and software operations, applications and maintenance procedures
  • Upgrading and modifying existing control applications by installing hardware and software modifications, upgrades and replacements to enhance operational and safety monitoring devices
  • Participating in the design, reviewing plans and specifications, and coordinating new project activity with Airport and contractor personnel
  • Acting as a lead, or project coordinator, over a group of technicians or contractor personnel, in performing related EMS repairs, modifications and upgrades
  • Providing liaison with Airport EMS users to investigate complaints and recommendations; takes appropriate actions to ensure proper resolution
What you need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years experience including Distributed Controls System (DCS) and/or building automation computer system hardware and software maintenance, and real-time industrial process applications and maintenance
  • Formal training in computer science/technology
  • Formal training in DCS EMS technology, or related industrial systems control applications and maintenance.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
What we desire:
  • 2-3 years Industrial Utility operations experience
  • 2-3 years Instrumentation & Controls
