Director, Strategy Tax Professionals

We are seeking a Strategy Director, Tax Professionals Segment, based in our Ann Arbor, MI or Dallas, TX locations. In this role you will report to Head of Corporate Strategy, Tax Professionals leading projects to support the long-term strategies and growth objectives of the segment. Tax, accounting, and audit professionals turn to Thomson Reuters Tax Professionals’ integrated tax compliance, accounting, and audit solutions for trusted answers in a complex and constantly changing world.
  • Growth Strategies: market opportunity analysis, new market entry strategies
  • Business Development: competitive analysis, mergers and acquisition (M&A) evaluation, due diligence
  • Efficiency and Effectiveness: commercial strategy, channel strategy, product and technology planning
  • Strategic Planning: annual business planning, business case development, 3-5-year strategic planning, capital allocation
  • Conduct market assessments, competitive analysis, customer analysis, and financial modeling
  • Contribute to customer research studies
  • Closely partner with colleagues in the segment, strategy, product, finance, technology and other areas to gather intelligence and support strategy development
  • Prepare responses to corporate requests for Tax Professionals segment information
  • Develop compelling slides and presentations that tell a clear story
  • Manage multiple, time-sensitive project deliverables simultaneously

Experience and Education:
  • 5-10 years of related business experience in corporate strategy, strategic marketing or finance
  • Bachelors’ degree required, MBA preferred
  • Experience owning and delivering concurrent, time-sensitive analytical projects required
  • Experience in and knowledge of tax, accounting, and audit industry desirable
  • Experience coaching and leading others

  • Strong primary and secondary research skills
  • Proven strategic and financial analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel periodically as necessary – up to 25% of time
  • Fluency in English
