IT Network Team Leader

As an IT Network Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small team of highly skilled network engineers and functional as the technical lead. You’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills in a very complex network environment and maintain some work/life balance.

Position Summary

  • Supervise internal technical staff and external contractors to ensure consistent performance and delivery of network services.
  • Participate and/or lead assigned projects/work efforts to deliver life cycle management programs, enhancements to existing systems, or implementation of new technology solutions. 
  • Ensures configuration standards, templates and normal operational system parameters are implemented.
  • Fulfil systems requests, execute change management activities and respond to system incidents within established service level agreements.
  • Participates in regular meetings and conference calls with customers and IT staff to help qualify opportunities and technical solutions.
    Perform research and evaluate the ongoing changes in technology and continued evaluation of best practices in support of network services.
    Recommend additional training solutions for team members to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to be effective in role.
    Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regard to the work and roles of the team. Assist in the training of new staff and cross training of existing staff. (As Assigned by Manager)
    Provide input in the creation of performance management documentation of team.

What You Need:

 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in network systems support.
  • Two (2) years of direct supervisory level team lead experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid class C driver's license.
     

What We Desire

  • Senior-level knowledge and implementation of complex, enterprise-scale Layer 2 and Layer 3 IP Networks, 802.11 wireless, Unified Communications, Data Center Unified Fabric, network security appliances or telecommunication systems comprising the Business Technology infrastructure platforms
  • Ability to perform research and evaluate the ongoing changes in technology and continued evaluation of best practices in support of network services
  • Ability to plan and develop time and cost estimates for network projects.
  • Capable of functioning in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities
  • Strong documentation skills and experience generating technical documents, diagrams, solutions specifications, guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong security awareness, ability to identify and communicate risks.
  • Clear communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in several of the following (certification a plus): Cisco Routing/Switching/ACI/DNA, Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 LTM/GTM, Cisco UCS and Nexus, Infoblox, Wireless.
  • CISSP
  • Project Management Certification.
