Sr. Airline Retention Manager

As a Senior Airline Relations Manager you will be responsible for key relationships between DFW Airport and our current airline partners and provide leadership for the Airport in the execution of short- and long-range market strategies. You will also direct the execution of strategic and tactical plans to retain all airlines currently serving this market and work to increase flights in domestic and international markets. You’ll have the opportunity to do work of strategic importance to the airport and the region.
What you will be doing:
  • Directs the implementation and execution of the strategy to retain all airlines and cargo services to this market and to increase flights in domestic and international markets.
  • Develops relationships with airline partners, with specific emphasis on key commercial leaders including marketing, sales, as well as customer experience, operations and revenue management leaders.
  • Develops recommendations to support and retain incumbent passenger and cargo service based on market research and airline feedback.
  • Collaborates with the International Marketing and PR colleagues to execute short- and long-range marketing strategies to support existing air service routes.
  • Develops periodic short and long-term forecasts for the enterprise budget.
  • Provides input to the establishment of the annual goals and objectives of DFW’s passenger and cargo development, both internationally and domestically.
  • Prepares and reports on all call plans for passenger and cargo retention meetings.
  • Develops and recommends policies and procedures associated with air service retention and customer relationship management.
  • Reports on a regular basis on traffic trends globally and domestically for assigned accounts.
  • Develops and presents business case presentations and performance reviews to airline staff.
  • Supports logistical and analytical elements of mar industry trade events like IPW and GBTA.
  • Interviews, selects, supervises, develops, counsels and if necessary, terminates subordinates in accordance with established policies.
  • Understanding of elements of Customer Experience and key touch points with airline partners.
  • Ability to build relationships with Government agencies and understanding of processes and policies (CBP, TSA, USDA, FDA)
  • Knowledge of airline critical systems (baggage system, CUTE, aircraft a/c services)
  • Ability to represent and understand the proceedings of various airline meetings (AOC, ROSAT, COSAT)
What you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, aviation management or related field.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in route planning, strategic planning, working in aviation marketing/airport industry, air services business development, economics, operations and cargo.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively domestically and internationally.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
What we desire:
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with a major airport or airline.
  • Foreign language capabilities
