Telecommunications Associate

  • Assisting Telecom field forces, Planning and Implementation groups in procuring pricing and developing solutions to bandwidth/circuit issues;
  • Processing provisioning requests and work orders, including placing and tracking of orders with carriers for timely installations, modifications and removals of telecom circuits;
  • Reviewing/completing carrier contracts/forms, processing them for approval by our Sourcing/Law departments and presenting them to Manager for review and processing for signature;
  • Coordination of implementation activities with telecom carriers and field forces;
  • Documenting circuit information in Remedy and other databases, including Excel and SharePoint;
  • Working with billing contractor to resolve billing issues;
  • Performing circuit audits to identify optimization opportunities (higher bandwidth/lower cost);
  • Staying up-to-date on carrier offerings, such as MPLS, VOIP and DSL; 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date
  • Prior Telecomm Experience
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, documentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and follow processes/procedures for documenting circuit pricing, orders, moves and disconnects in BNSF databases;
  • Experience reviewing invoices and resolving billing disputes; and
  • Ability to read and understand contracts and complete carrier order forms.
  • Mid-level experience using MS Office products.
  • Experience in problem solving, troubleshooting and paying attention to detail;
  • Ability to work safely in an office environment;
  • Willingness to submit to a background review;
  • Available to work in the geographic area indicated;
Training:  Company-paid on-the-job.
Relocation:  Assistance not available.
Travel:  Minimal
Shifts/Hours:  Full-time, subject to overtime, on-call, alternate shifts, nights, weekends, holidays.
Union:  International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
Dues:  Per union agreement; membership and dues required.
