Sr. Marketing Specialist - International

Summary: The Senior Marketing Specialist reports to the Director of International Patient Services with a dotted line to the Manager of Marketing. He or she is responsible for working strategically to coordinate the marketing needs and initiatives in support of Cook Children's International, such as those pertaining to the International Business Development team, Cook Children's Physician Network, Cook Children's Specialty Centers. Additionally, this person will be the project lead for new system initiatives to ensure leadership goals are met, such as opening new market. This position will work closely with leadership/staff within International Patient Services to develop communications strategies and marketing plans that will enhance the vision and goals of the company and the system as a whole. He/she serves as a project coordinator (account executive) for these areas, ensuring all marketing needs are addressed by agreed upon deadlines. Oversees projects from concept to completion. Communicates with internal and external clients throughout process. Individual will be responsible for understanding and integrating the Cook Children's brand and key messaging into all materials. Will ensure on a monthly or quarterly basis that the  Director of International and Manager of Marketing have been informed of all projects with proofing materials and projects associated with all companies within Cook Children's Health Care System. Individual works in tandem with the Public Relations team within Corporate and Community Affairs to leverage PR opportunities on behalf of Cook Children's as needed. Requires working closely with Marketing Specialists, graphic designers, Web team, public relations team and vendors. Must be an excellent writer/communicator, diplomatic, strategic and able to handle a multi-faceted workload.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, Liberal Arts or related field.
  • Work requires 5 to 8 years in marketing and communications environment with hands-on experience, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Must be an excellent writer/communicator, diplomatic and able to handle a heavy workload.
  • Professional experience in a health care environment strongly desired.  
  • Bilingual in writing and speaking either Spanish or Arabic is required.
