Do you enjoy attending events at the Will Rogers Memorial Center?   If you thrive on this type of work and take pride in being a part of a team, you are who we are looking for to fill the Sales & Events Manager position at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
By working at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, you will be doing work that matters! The Sales & Events Manager plays a very important role in making sure the clients ideas become a reality.  Will Rogers hosts a diverse calendar of events which includes some of the top National and International Horse and Livestock Shows, Consumer and Trade Shows, Cultural, Educational, and Performing Arts events and much more.  
 
Depending on the type of event, some of the essential job functions will include:
  • As a Sales & Events Manager, you will meet with prospective clients to coordinate tours and conduct site inspections for various events to familiarize them with the facilities.
  • You will provide current rental information and contractual terms, including facility usage requirements and services to prospective clients. You will also communicate significant changes regarding facility usage to all recurring lessees.
  • You will assist with sales goals and strategies and offer guidance on sales strategies to gain new business and maintain existing business.
  • You will work in partnership with Visit Fort Worth to sell Fort Worth and WRMC cooperatively.
 
Additional details about this position:
  • Public Events Department employees are subject to reassignment based on work load and/or the needs of the City or the Department.  This reassignment may involve relocation to the Fort Worth Convention Center or another City facility.

  • Full Time, 8am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Hotel Management or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of increasing responsible experience in administrative and/or management work involving sales, promotion, and production of events and/or public facilities.
  • Two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
 
Preferred candidates will have:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Experience in Event Sales, Customer Service or Event Production.
  • Experience with Equestrian and Livestock events is desired yet not required.
