Sr. Strategic Planning Analyst

This position is a key contributor on a focused, highly visible team that develops and executes robust analytics that inform strategies to meet THR's strategic objectives. Together with the rest of the team, this position plays a key role in:  providing information and analyses to support strategic decision-making and acquisition due diligence, performing competitive analyses.
•  Analyze strategic and operational opportunities within and across specific zones, hospitals, and departments.  These assignments will require the use of: hypothesis-based problem solving, fact-based analysis, financial modeling, decision modeling, scenario planning, statistical analysis, and other methods of quantitative analysis as needed to suit the specific problem at hand.  Use Excel, Tableau, and Alteryx to perform analysis on large disparate data sets to support strategic.
•  Act as a thought-partner for strategy team members. Help them to identify key strategic issues, create a framework for analysis, and develop insights that provide a data-based analytical set of strategic choices.
 •  Gather key inputs for the Strategic Plans for the system and its entities (including service-line specific plans).  Provide additional context and analysis that informs the team about forward growth rates by service line and/or geography.
•  Perform periodic analysis on market and competitive trends in a crisp, concise and timely manner.  Work with strategy team members to design periodic market and competitive reports which track key trends, monitor and evaluate competitors, highlight innovation opportunities and inform decision-making.
•  Develop and incorporate additional inputs (3rd party research, newsletters, trade magazines, websites, etc.) into periodic reporting (as needed).
•  Work with strategy team to improve quality and usefulness of reporting over time. Manage data warehouse to make data available for appropriate end users, including refreshing the data and providing periodic updates.
•  Contribute to the development and optimization of key THR analytic tools and processes.
•  Assist strategy team in building a THR-specific toolkit for analyzing and tracking service line market sizes, competitor shares, competitor cost positions, and growth rates.
•  Support business development efforts by performing M&A due diligence, valuation and business integration planning for potential acquisitions (as needed).  Team members may be called upon to contribute to any and all stages of the business development process, including valuation of potential acquisition targets.  All business development activities will require coordination with the THR Business Development group, which owns and coordinates the business development process.
•  Engage in other ad-hoc analyses and information gathering / communications as needed to support the growth and development of the business.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications
•  Bachelor's Degree in Business or in a quantitative/technical discipline preferred OR four (4) years strategic analysis experience in lieu of degree is required 
•  Three (3) years of Strategic Analysis; performing a variety of quantitative analyses (e.g., DCF valuation, ABC analysis, regression analysis, etc.) is required. 

• Strong critical reasoning and qualitative analysis skills
• Demonstrated track record performing a variety of quantitative analyses
• Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis, market research, financial modeling, and competitive analysis
• Demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookup, sensitivity analysis, etc.)
• Preferred experience with SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, R and similar programs
• Demonstrated ability to learn other key software programs
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Comfort in working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to operate independently, with minimal direction
• Strong teamwork skills
