As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for using engineering principles and appropriate management practices to coordinate and manage the activities of contractors and consultants involved in performing infrastructure assessments, studies and/or the development of renewal projects.  Under the general direction of the Infrastructure Manager, you will perform,  plan and conduct infrastructure assessments of the Airport’s facilities and systems to ensure proper life cycle maintenance and compliance with regulatory and building code requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to promote the DFW Airport and to work for one of the best airports to work for.
What you will be doing:
  • Assist staff in the proper maintenance and operation of facilities and systems through training, development of maintenance programs and technical assistance in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Investigate and recommends appropriate action for facility and system failures, abnormal maintenance requirements, and for the applicability of new materials, equipment and techniques for maintenance applications.
  • Responsible for overall delivery of assigned projects within approved cost, schedule and quality guidelines.
  • Prepare or coordinate personnel, including contractors and consultants, in the preparation of plans, specifications, engineering studies and reports; collects and assimilates data and prepares programming documents for the Capital Improvement and Major Maintenance program.
  • Prepare statements of work, selection criteria and evaluation procedures for engineering consultants.
  • Performs other duties directly and indirectly related to infrastructure management as may be required.
  • Prepare long-range plans for maintenance, repair and modernization.
What you need:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Three (3) years experience in planning, designing and managing large construction projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Technical specialization area or academic discipline may be specified by the department.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
What we desire:
  • Knowledge of civil, mechanical or electrical engineering principles and practices
  • Knowledge of major types of construction, related materials and equipment, and contracting standards.
  • Knowledge of national, state and local laws and regulations related to major public works development and operation.
  • Knowledge of currently accepted cost and scheduling techniques.
