Sr. Business Analyst

The Sr. Business Analyst works with and establishes solid relationships with the Department Management, IS Managers, Mouser Executives, and other “key” individuals.  The Business Analyst will analyze department processes, requirements, and user requirements; develop functional design; be the functional subject matter expert (SME); document business and technical requirements; establish priorities for requirements; identify process improvements; develop test plans; prepare workflow documentation; develop and gain approvals on Project Charters; and maintain clear, timely communications with all interested parties.
 
ACCOUNTABILITIES
This position functions at a Sr. level in all aspects of the position including being a ‘go to’ person for the other Business Analysts within the department.
Expected to learn, develop and maintain a strong Mouser business acumen and use it with each assignment.
Meet with Company Executives to learn strategy, tactical approaches, priorities, requirements, and business process.
Document business requirements, may develop and oversee project plans, oversee and coordinate the development of technical specifications.
Establish open, fluid and timely communications with all interested parties, stakeholders and the project team.  This could include all levels of participants from Company Executives to individual contributors.
Expected to utilize organizational skills to document, categorize, prioritize, provide easy access to information, ask questions, follow up, and maintain communications.
Must take initiative to spend time with all levels of users (formal meetings, informal meetings, observing work, etc.)
Collaborate with developers, quality assurance, business teams and technical support to provide a mix of business and technical direction on systems, design, development, testing and deployment.
Is required to develop and maintain project schedules with appropriate input, including all necessary activities and dependencies.
Develop and maintain all Project Documentation as defined by Mouser’s IS Policies and Procedures.
Represents the company and IS in a professional manner.
Mentor associates and foster a learning and growth environment.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
Team-player/leader.
Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments.
Arrives on time to work hours needed to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent required.
At least 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Associate Business Analyst role.
 
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
•             Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies, software development lifecycle, and software methodologies (waterfall, agile, prototyping, JAD, SCRUM)
•             Working knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle, Sybase, Access, PICK, UV) and experienced with data mining, gap analysis and business models
•             Ability to define functional (specific business goals) and non-functional (performance, external interfaces, security, training) requirements and develop a business hypothesis based on analyzed data
•             Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational and teaching skills
•             Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization
•             Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly describe business problems or processes to technical and non-technical audiences
•             Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a strong attention to detail
•             Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams
•             Strong ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
•             Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others
•             Ability to set and track goals
•             Available to work early, late and weekends when needed to fulfill assigned responsibilities
•             PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with internet e-mail, Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other software
•             Able to use, read, and interpret spreadsheets, printed reports, and terminal screen
•             Ability to analyze business processes and workflows
•             Strong skills in Process Mapping and Business Process Reengineering
•             Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
