Community and Alumni Relations Specialist

The Community and Alumni Relations Specialist seeks to engage a diverse audience in actively connecting HSC with its alumni and community through events, volunteerism, giving and educational programs. In an effort to build relationships, the specialist will serve as a liaison for multiple departments, manage the logistics for all alumni events, coordinate general volunteerism opportunities and data related to those opportunities (the volunteerism report) as well as generate clear communications and feedback mechanisms in support of events. Works with entire Institutional Advancement team as well as other campus departments to effectively relate to the community and alumni. Key programs managed are: Volunteerism, serve on the Volunteer Council, create the annual campus Volunteerism Report; Plan, implement and evaluate all non-Student Alumni Association events, manage HSC Connect platform and HSC Connect coalition, and assists with social media platforms for Alumni Association. 

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: 

* Keep an inventory/map of community organization calendars and community needs to match against services, faculty/administrator expertise, and strategic innovations. 
* Recruit volunteers (non-clin med opportunities) for general community service opportunities on behalf of UNTHSC. 
* Manages HSC Connect engagement platform to ensuring content aligns with/follows HSC Connect's marketing strategy. 
* Develop and maintain a robust volunteerism training and recognition program. Serve as head of the Volunteer Council and creates, tracks and cross-references the annual campus volunteerism report as well as submits content for annual UNTHSC Impact Report. 
* Plan, implement and evaluate various alumni programming and events. Work collaboratively with CR/AR Manager to include Student Alumni Association. 
* Send class reunion campaign each year and plan and coordinate annual reunions with alumni class champions (where applicable). 
* Assists with generating content for social media platforms, HSC Connect, OrgSync and Daily News. 
* Assist with other Community and Alumni Relations events/programs as needed. 
* Help maintain/update accurate records in Raiser's Edge database.

The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications: 

* Bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience in Community Relations and/or Alumni Relations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
