This analytical position provides multifunctional support to the Payment & Collections Specialists and Manager in the areas of Payments, Collections and Project Management. This position requires the ability to work as a member of the Payment & Collections Team and the experience to assist in managing segments of both small and large projects, provide operational analysis and assist with delivering solutions from documented or verbal specifications in a timely manner. A primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Payment & Collections Manager in the areas that affect the receipt and reconciliation of payments through the collection process. This includes supporting development initiatives and facilitating activities to insure accurate, complete, and timely execution of tasks.
Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting with the design, build, management and maintenance of applications utilized by the Payment & Collections Team to meet their operational requirements. This position creates and maintains managerial reports, process quality and performance reports, and assists with the providing possible solutions for various business issues. 
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Performs all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other specific job requirements
• Generate internal metrics reporting on the quality and performance of the Payment & Collections processes by performing data mining and maintaining the aggregate performance data necessary. This includes both REP payments and collections processes and direct billed, such as tampering, payments and collections processes.
• Gather data from various sources utilizing data mining skills, such as Cognos, ODS, CIS, RightNow and ERCOT MarkeTrak.
• Assist with design, build/enhance, test, implement and maintain application(s) to address SOX Controls, Internal Audit, and operational controls.
• Assist with design, build/enhance, test, implement and maintain application(s) to address operational process requirements around payments and collections. This includes both REP payments and collections processes and direct billed, such as tampering, payments and collections processes.
• Assist with training of Payment & Collections Team on new operational and process management applications. 
• Work cross functionally with Market Operations, Distribution Operations, Rates and Regulatory and technology partners to implement integrated business strategies and processes.
• Maintain close contact with daily activities to monitor system issues and assist in applying workarounds/process changes as required.
• Assist the Payment & Collections Manager and Specialist with management of Retailer payment and collections activities interacting with REP Relations Managers and Accounting by providing appropriate ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, etc. 
• Assist with the collaborative interaction with ERCOT, REP’s and high level market participants to proactively identify and resolve conditions that could negatively impact the financial health of Market participants, including ONCOR. 
• Assist with management of internal projects and defects regarding ONCOR’s internal and external systems affecting Payments & Collections.
• In the event of system issues, this position would be expected to assist with system stability and cleanup efforts to ensure Market compliance and minimize customer impacts regarding payments and collections.
• Represent Payment & Collections, with supervision, on major company projects for issues related to payments and collections by providing SME support in regards to business requirements, review of functional specifications for accuracy and validation of the final product implemented.
• Performs special projects as requested.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL 
The minimum education requirements are:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required; Bachelor Degree in Business, Information Technology or a related field, a plus.  
 
The minimum experience requirements are:
• Demonstrated knowledge of company policies and procedures a plus
• Knowledge of and ability to research, understand, and communicate PUC Substantive Rules, ERCOT market rules, and ONCOR Terms and Conditions pertaining to payment and collections a plus
• Minimum 2 years of analytics experience; intermediate analytics background, preferred
• Intermediate experience as a business data analyst, preferred
• Minimum 1 year of CIS system, a plus
• Minimum 1 year of experience in relational databases, queries, stored procedures, reports, forms, maintain documentation and coding utilizing SQL Server, SSIS, MS Access and Excel, VBA or like applications and/or programming languages, a plus
• Minimum 2 years of experience in systems necessary to operate in the ERCOT market. These systems include: CIS, FIM, ODS, familiarity with Texas SET, Right Now, and familiarity with MarkeTrack, a plus
• Knowledge of current business and market rules and regulations, a plus
